Masahiro Asamura is Senior Managing Partner and an experienced lawyer who manages ASAMURA IP P.C. and Asamura Law Offices. He specialises in IP litigation and disputes related to patent, trademark, designs, copyright and Unfair Competition Prevention Act (UCPA) matters.
He is further experienced in handling invalidation trials, warning letter correspondence, negotiations and licensing. As each such case is unique, Mr Asamura regularly teams up with other patent attorneys to utilise a team approach that is proven to be highly successful and efficient.
Prior to joining ASAMURA, he gained experience as a lawyer at Kagoshima District Court. Moreover, at Nagashima & Hashimoto, he acted as an associate focusing on domestic and international legal disputes. He established Asamura Law Offices in 2011 – a dedicated law firm that provides clients with expert legal guidance in disputes concerning IP rights.
As a Master’s degree student at the University of Edinburgh, he researched a method for the quantitative analysis of iron components in soil. At Lancaster University, he conducted research on a method for analysing compositional changes in fumaric acid and fulvic acid by soil depth.
Mr Asamura was also involved in examining court cases and the Japanese litigation system when he served as a member of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association’s Amicus Brief Committee.
