Agustín Velázquez G.L.

With over 25 year of experience, Agustin Velázquez has focused his practice in Intellectual Property litigation, in addition to Corporate, Mediation and Arbitration.

He has wide experience in handling Mexican Constitutional and Administrative litigation, including Amparo proceedings, as well as advising on IP, Franchise & Licensing and Antitrust matters.

Agustin is an active member of the Mexican Bar Association, as well he has served as Vice-President of the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AMPPI) from 2003 up to 2007. He is also a member of international associations such as: The International Trademark Association (INTA), the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the Mexican Chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). In addition, he has been a member of the Board of the Mexican Chapter of the ICC as well as the Vice-President of IP Commission since at least 2004.

Agustin has been invited as speaker on IP matters in different forums locally and abroad. He has been recognized by many well-known publications such as “Chambers and Partners Latin America” (2009, 2010 and 2011), “The Guide to the World’s Leading Trademark Law Practitioners” (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008), Latin Lawyer “(2005), “Euromoney Legal Media Group” (2002) and “Top 40 under 40 Lawyers in Mexico, Latin Lawyer (2003) as a leading lawyer in Mexican IP law.
