JUDr. Jaromír Císař

JUDr. Jaromír Císař is a co-founder and equity partner of Císař, Češka, Smutný, the Prague law firm recognised as Commercial Law Firm of the Year in the Czech Republic at the 2024 Corporate INTL Global Awards. A Czech attorney, insolvency administrator and arbitrator, he has been a central figure in one of the country's foremost commercial practices for three decades, and the award reflects both the firm's scale and the depth of its commercial law expertise.

Mr Císař founded the firm in 1993 together with his colleagues Prof. JUDr. Zdeněk Češka and JUDr. Pavel Smutný, and it has since grown into one of the largest law firms in the Czech Republic. His own practice centres on commercial and insolvency law, and alongside client work he devotes himself to legal history and constitutional law, teaches at the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague, and regularly publishes expert texts. This combination of practice, scholarship and teaching lends particular authority to his commercial advice.

The firm's standing is reflected in the volume and value of its work. In recent years it has recorded well over a hundred thousand hours of client work annually across hundreds of matters, with revenues exceeding half a billion Czech crowns, figures that place it among the leading practices in the domestic market.
