Caesar Poblador is an attorney at law. Prior to joining Federis & Associates Law Office, he worked with two other large firms performing primarily litigation work while supervising daily trademark filing and prosecution work. His litigation practice initially focused on three main areas of law: transportation and aviation, labor and human relations, and maritime.
Mr. Poblador has handled appeals at all levels, including the Supreme Court where he secured significant victories in labor, aviation and maritime law. With these initial successes, he was asked to handle important litigation for high-value trademarks such as DKNY, Bally, Mercedes Benz, PUMA and ADIDAS. In one appeal, which was brought to the Supreme Court, he secured victory for PUMA, which was declared a protected, well-known trademark. His strong advocacy for the protection for famous trademarks in the Philippines led him to test the use of limited tools under the old trademark law such as the application of Section 6 bis of the Paris Convention.
Mr. Poblador also utilized his litigation skills in the areas of intra-corporate disputes and securities law. His work with important clients involved strategizing maneuvers at boardroom and stockholders’ meetings to maintaining management control. Mr. Poblador handled property acquisition and development, urgent removal of cloud to land titles, and conversion of land title classifications from agricultural to commercial.
Because of his exposure to the intricacies of securities laws, he enjoys the opportunity to work with issues relating to multilevel marketing. He has devoted extensive time to the untangling of partnership and joint venture businesses, advising clients on pre-litigation strategies to minimize their exposure to corporate debts incurred in the ventures to head-off threatened litigation.
