President and Chief Executive Officer of JLT Insurance Management in Barbados, Ricardo Knight has been a fixture in the captive insurance and company management arena since 1994, when he joined The Towner Management Group.
A Barbadian, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados, Ricardo currently serves as Chairman of the Joint Policy Working Group. The Group is an advisory committee that advises the Barbados Minister of International Business on government policies.
Ricardo also was:
· Past President of the Barbados International Business Association, where he served as Chairman of the association’s insurance sub-committee and as Director to the first Barbadian-born President.
· Past President of the University of the West Indies Alumni Association. Ricardo serves on the University’s Audit Committee and the Accreditation Committee, and is a member of the Vice Chancellor’s President’s Club.
· A member of the Barbados Entrepreneurship Foundation’s government pillar committee.
Ricardo writes regularly about global business and captive insurance issues for local and international magazines, and he has presented at numerous industry and business conferences in the Americas. He moderated recent sessions as part of the LATAM Inward Mission to Barbados series, and also presented before the U.S. Risk Managers Society.
