Some of our work has changed how corporate recovery and insolvency engagements are pursued in the Caribbean. We were the first firm to be appointed liquidators to a foreign registered company in the Cayman Islands, and the Cayman Islands' Companies Law was amended to reflect this. We also were the first firm in the Cayman Islands to enter a protocol agreement with a U.S. court-appointed receiver to avoid the issues and debate with foreign recognition. More recently we were the first offshore liquidation to create a “center of main interest” and be recognized in U.S. Bankruptcy court.
