Ravi Kini is the Managing Attorney at the Firm and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Bombay and Masters of Laws degree in International Financial Laws from the University of Georgia with specialization in derivative financial market and risk control framework. Ravi helps his international clients understand the legal and corporate environment for setting up and doing business in India. He advises companies on laws governing international businesses and the inherent challenges of doing trans-boundary businesses, specifically in Banking and Financial areas. He specializes in Aviation Laws and Banking/Project finance issues. Ravi also represents government and private airlines in negotiating contracts and regularly advises them on regulatory compliances in India. He was instrumental in finalizing negotiations between the national carrier and Boeing for purchase of Aircrafts. With his close association with various aviation clients for the last more than ten years, Ravi is well aware of the issues faced by aviation companies in their functioning, as also having developed expertise in finalizing commercial documents for high value purchase by aviation companies. He was identified as a leading lawyer in the aviation sector in the ‘Who’s Who Legal’ (Aviation, 2010) and the ‘Leading LAWYER 100’ 2011 Annual Guide, which recognizes those in the legal community that have stood out from their peers by demonstrating professional achievement and excellence in their area of practice. Some of the recent assignments include: - Advising and vetting of the “Inflight Entertainment” Tender and Contract for enabling Air India to avail the “Inflight Entertainment Content” from the “Content Service Providers”, appointed by Air India through a tender process. - Advising and vetting “Merchant Agreement” to be entered between M/s. Air India Limited and ICICI Bank and ICICI Merchant Services, for enabling Air India to avail E-Commerce transactions (web bookings) platform for its customers to book air tickets on Air India’s website. - Vetting “Aircraft Sale and Purchase Agreement” to be entered between M/s. Air India Limited (“Seller”) and M/s. SASOF TR-25 AVIATION IRELAND LIMITED (“Buyer”) for the sale of with respect to one (1) used Airbus model A310-300 aircraft. - Vetting of Test Cell Construction Agreement to be entered between Air India Limited and M/s. Cenco Incorporation,USA, for the purposes of construction of “Aircraft Engine Test Facility” to be constructed at Nagpur, Maharashtra. - Drafting/vetting of Simulator Supply & Installation Agreement for purchase of a Full Flight Simulator with Visual System and also represented Air India Limited in the negotiations with CAE Inc.; - Advising Airports Authority of India on drafting of rules for Airport Development Fee.
