Dr. Andreas Baumann

Dr. Andreas Baumann is the Managing Director of PHH Tax, the tax law and tax consultancy arm of the Austrian firm PHH Rechtsanwaelte. He has been named Corporate Tax Expert of the Year in Austria at the Corporate INTL Global Awards 2025, an individual honour that recognises a career built at the demanding intersection of corporate taxation and transactional work.

PHH Tax was established when Baumann joined PHH, bringing his own team of tax consultants so that the firm could offer tax law and tax consultancy from a single source. The division was created to sit alongside PHH's established M&A, litigation and corporate law practices, addressing what the firm describes as an important dimension of many of its clients and projects, and giving those clients integrated advice that spans both the legal and the fiscal sides of a transaction.

Baumann is a full member of the Tax Adviser Examination Board of the Chamber of Austrian Public Accountants, and a long-standing university lecturer on M&A and due diligence at the Universities of Graz and Linz. He is co-editor of manuals on group tax planning and tax due diligence, and serves as an editor for the Austrian Tax Express magazine, contributing to the scholarship and professional standards of Austrian tax practice.
