Mathias Preuschl

Mathias Preuschl is Managing Partner at PHHV Rechtsanwälte and specialises in the fields of criminal law as well as litigation with a focus on commercial criminal law and White Collar Crime. He further practices in the areas of civil law and compliance.

Mathias is among Austria´s most sought-after White Collar Crime and criminal law experts. With his team, he offers a wide range of services starting at anticipating strategic advice to conducting internal investigations and the representation in criminal matters.

Mathias Preuschl successfully represented clients in high profile criminal cases especially grand jury trials. PHHV furthermore represents clients in the largest, currently pending proceedings such as Telekom, BAWAG, Libro or Hypo Alpe Adria.

In 1999, Mathias Preuschl received his PhD in law (Dr. iur.) from the University of Vienna. Between 1996 and 2000 he held lectures on higher education law as well as criminal and disciplinary law. He became a member of the Vienna Bar Association in 2003. Mathias started out his career as an associate at Kafka Palkovits Steiner Rechtsanwälte, was partner at and Knirsch, Braun, Fellner, Preuschl Rechtsanwälte and ran his own practice. He joined PHHV in 2009 and became Managing Partner in 2012.

Mathias is a Member of the IT-working group of the Austrian Bar Association, of the Executive Committee of the Vienna Bar Association as well as of the Austrian Association of Defence Counsels, the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE).
