Transfer Pricing Advisory · Mexico

Fernando Pliego Vincent is the National Leader of the Transfer Pricing practice at Salles Sainz Grant Thornton, the Mexican member firm of the Grant Thornton network, which has been named Transfer Pricing Advisory Firm of the Year in Mexico at the Corporate INTL Global Awards 2025. The award recognises a practice that has become a reference point for multinational and domestic groups managing the pricing of transactions between related parties, an area of ever greater scrutiny from tax authorities.

Salles Sainz Grant Thornton has been a leader in Mexican public accountancy and business consulting since 1979, providing tailored services to privately held companies and their owners as well as to some of the largest enterprises operating in Mexico. It is Grant Thornton's largest member firm in Latin America, and its service lines span auditing, taxes, business advisory, foreign trade and transfer pricing. That combination allows transfer pricing questions to be addressed within a broader commercial and tax context rather than in isolation.

Mr. Pliego Vincent holds a degree in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), a background well suited to the economic analysis at the core of transfer pricing. Throughout his career he has concentrated on the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and reports, general advisory on transfer pricing matters, corporate restructures, the valuation of companies and intangible assets, and advance pricing agreements (APAs). This range covers both the compliance obligations that groups must satisfy and the more strategic questions that arise when businesses reorganise or transfer valuable intangibles across borders.

His standing in the field is reflected in his professional leadership. He serves as Chairman of the Transfer Pricing Commission of the Instituto Mexicano de Ejecutivos de Finanzas (IMEF), the Mexican Institute of Financial Executives, and is also a member of the Transfer Pricing Commission of the Colegio de Contadores Públicos de México. Through these roles he contributes to the development of professional standards and to the dialogue between practitioners and the wider financial community on a subject that continues to evolve rapidly.

Transfer pricing has moved to the centre of international tax as authorities intensify their focus on how profits are allocated among the jurisdictions in which multinational groups operate. Documentation requirements, economic benchmarking, the valuation of intangibles and the negotiation of APAs all demand a blend of technical rigour and commercial understanding. Mr. Pliego Vincent's practice, encompassing reports, advisory, restructures, valuations and APAs, is built precisely around these demands, helping clients to substantiate their pricing policies and to manage the risk of disputes.

The recognition of Salles Sainz Grant Thornton as Transfer Pricing Advisory Firm of the Year in Mexico at the Corporate INTL Global Awards 2025 affirms the depth of a practice led by a senior specialist with strong academic grounding and active professional leadership. For groups with Mexican operations facing the challenges of related-party pricing, the firm offers economic analysis, documentation and advisory support anchored in the reach and resources of a major international network.
