Dr. Artur Bunk MLE
bunk-alliance was established in 2003 by Artur Bunk, an Attorney-at-Law. During his career he has worked with the German law firm Pünder, Volhard, Weber & Axster (now Clifford Chance), was head of Office at Rödl & Partner in Poland, and was VP and Senior Legal Counsel at the Legal and Restructuring Department of KfW. Since its establishment the firm grew into an extensive network of own and associated offices in ten different cities within four different countries.
Today, bunk-alliance’s work is primarily focused on cross border transactions within areas of bankruptcy, distressed M&A, cross border insolvency, debt collection and associated areas. Among others, bunk-alliance lawyers have been advising clients on such cross-border cases as NG Energy, Worldcom, FairchildDornier, Orinoco Iron, Ispat International, Lloyd Werft, AE Group, Trevira, Domo, Kögel, Hein Gericke, a.o.
The firm consists of a team of highly motivated professionals, who give full attention to the clients’ needs and demands. A typical client of bunk-alliance would be a company or an insolvency administrator that has been established as administrator over the holding company of a multinational group situated within a jurisdiction other than Germany, Poland or Spain.
Our focus is always with the economical benefit and interest of the parties involved. We believe that a distressed situation presents rather an opportunity than a burden if handled proactively. The complexity and interactions within the various jurisdictions may be either regarded as liability or as a window of opportunity enabling the client to choose the most beneficial course of action for his needs. The potential gains are significant if handled properly and we are experienced at thinking globally but acting locally – on one hand keeping the policy and needs of a multinational insolvency proceedings in mind and, on the other hand, keeping in touch with the local players to ensure that local requirement are met.
The key to success in every restructuring situation is a thorough and careful analysis of available alternatives as well as the ability to think outside the box. After the thorough analysis however, it is essential to act and to respond quickly and flexibly. There is no predefined road to success and deviation from the originally agreed and pre-arranged plan might prove essential, but on the same hand, the course must be kept.
