Kevin Cai

Kevin Cai specialises in international trade negotiations, finance and overseas M&A. His finance work includes multiple types of loans (syndicated loan, acquisition, fixed asset loan, etc.), finance leases, among other financial instruments.

Mr Cai has represented many well-known enterprises in their international trade activities both at home and abroad and has acted as legal counsel for many domestic enterprises in their dealings with legal risks encountered in performing overseas business. His clients include a world-leading communication equipment manufacturer, a large domestic infrastructure contractor and financial companies, trust companies, insurance and capital management companies to transnational groups, as well as some large state-owned enterprises.

Mr Cai has also been serving as the international trade negotiation database lawyer in the Ministry of Commerce of PRC, and counsel of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, directly under the Ministry of Commerce.

Experience

• Representing nearly one hundred Chinese enterprises in their response to more than 66 anti-dumping investigations initiated by the EU, US, India, Argentina, Australia, Turkey, Brazil, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt and other countries, covering the iron and steel, telecom, photovoltaic, textile, chemical and electric appliance manufacturing industries, among others.
• Representing dozens of Chinese enterprises in their response to more than ten anti-subsidy investigations initiated by the EU, US, India and Australia, among other countries, covering the iron and steel, electric telecom, aluminium, electric appliance manufacturing industries, among others.
• Representing Jiangxi Rare Earth and Rare Metals Group Corporation in an overseas M&A project in Cameroon, providing legal service including due diligence, project design, risk assessment, assistance in examination and approval procedures home and abroad, among other services.
