Aaron Yu

Aaron Yu is a non-equity partner of Zhong Lun, one of the largest full-service firm in China. His practice focuses on complex civil and commercial litigation and arbitration as well as liquidation and dissolution matters. Aaron has represented and acted for foreign/domestic clients in a variety of sectors including manufacturing, distribution and retail, chemical products, natural resource, technology, Internet, education and private equity investment.
Aaron has particular extensive experience in advising and handling shareholder disputes, director fidelity lawsuits and complex commercial contract disputes. He once acted for a Finland bankruptcy estate in numbers of joint venture disputes over years and successfully helped the client exit from the joint venture company with hundreds million RMB in a share-redemption lawsuit. He also has experience in representing clients in disputes of intercompany loan and director fiduciary before provincial high courts and Chinese Supreme Court.
Aaron always aims to provide practical advice and frequently assists clients in difficult negotiations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings in relation to high value contractual dispute, product liability dispute, land procurement/development/expropriation disputes, etc.
Aaron also handles numbers of liquidation and dissolution matters every year. He recently assisted the fashion brand Agent Provocateur and the food chain store brand Pret A Manager in closing all of their China stores and exit China market. Aaron serves as a member of the Foreign Investment Law Expert Committee for docQbot & In-House Community, which is a leading provider of technology-supported legal solutions in China.
Prior to joining Zhong Lun, Aaron worked in a leading local firm that specialises in serving foreign clients investing and doing business in China. While there, Aaron was seconded to the legal department of Johnson Controls Asia as a secondee lawyer for approximately half year. Aaron holds an LLM degree from Vanderbilt Law School specialising in corporate and business track.
