Omar El Assir is a partner and heads the banking, capital markets and finance practice group of Alem & Associates.
Omar El Assir specializes in local and cross-border M&A and private equity work in the Middle East, with particular focus on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. He also specializes in corporate finance and Islamic finance, while dedicating time to legal work related to telecommunication, corporate governance, corporate restructuring and has gained a regional recognition for his work in these fields.
Omar El Assir is the author of several articles and legal publications tackling, amongst others, issues relating to corporate law, securities regulation, bank corporate governance and telecommunication law and practice.
Omar El Assir holds an LLB from Saint Joseph University, an LLM in International Private Law and International Business Law from the University of Paris I (Panthéon- Sorbonne). He has been a member of the Beirut Bar since 2002.
