Jeffrey A. Rinde

Jeffrey A. Rinde, managing partner of CKR Law LLP, has been named China Transactions Law Expert of the Year in China at the 2024 Corporate INTL Global Awards. The recognition reflects his distinctive experience representing Chinese and other Asian-based companies and helping them expand overseas, access capital and complete transactions that connect the Chinese market with the wider world.

Mr Rinde serves as managing partner of the firm's New York office and brings more than twenty-five years of global legal, corporate and investment banking experience. He advises both United States and foreign corporations across a wide range of industries, concentrating on the corporate, securities and other regulatory aspects of global business ventures. His practice is built on connecting companies in the United States and Europe with counterparts and opportunities across Asia and other international markets.

China transactions sit at the heart of his work. Mr Rinde has particular and distinctive skill in representing Chinese and other Asian-based companies in complex transactions, helping them grow their overseas business, raise capital and list on international exchanges, including in the United States, Hong Kong and London. He also represents international companies pursuing business activities within mainland China, giving him a two-way perspective on the legal and regulatory issues that shape inbound and outbound China deals.

His transactional experience spans public and private equity and debt financings, going-private transactions, international mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, project finance and foreign direct investment, extending into emerging areas such as blockchain technology. This breadth allows him to guide clients through the securities and regulatory dimensions of cross-border business across multiple jurisdictions, from initial structuring through to completion and public offering.

Earlier in his career, Mr Rinde served as Chief Representative of Blank Rome's Shanghai office, overseeing the firm's Asia-based client matters, and before that headed the corporate department of Hodgson Russ's New York office, where he established that firm's Asian practice. This long engagement with the China market underpins his standing as a specialist in the field. Being named China Transactions Law Expert of the Year in China at the 2024 Corporate INTL Global Awards affirms his reputation as a leading adviser on transactions between China and the international markets.
