Jeffrey A. Rinde

Jeffrey A. Rinde, managing partner of CKR Law LLP, has been named Cross-Border Transactions Law Expert of the Year in China at the 2024 Corporate INTL Global Awards. The recognition reflects his career-long focus on transactions that cross national boundaries and his skill in helping companies raise capital and expand their business between the United States, Asia and markets around the world.

Mr Rinde leads the firm as managing partner from its New York office and brings more than twenty-five years of global legal, corporate and investment banking experience. He represents both United States and foreign corporations across a diverse array of industries, advising on the corporate, securities and regulatory aspects of international business ventures. His practice deliberately spans jurisdictions, connecting companies in the United States and Europe with opportunities and counterparties across Asia, Central and South America, Russia, Africa, Australia and the Middle East.

Cross-border transactions define his work. Mr Rinde has particular skill in representing Chinese and other Asian-based companies in complex international transactions, helping them expand overseas, access capital and complete foreign public offerings in markets including the United States, Hong Kong and London. He equally advises international companies on the full range of their business activities within mainland China, giving him a rounded understanding of how deals are structured and executed across different legal systems.

His transactional experience is broad, encompassing public and private equity and debt financings, going-private transactions, international mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, project finance, banking instruments and foreign direct investment, as well as newer areas such as blockchain technology. This range allows him to manage the securities and regulatory complexity that accompanies multi-jurisdictional deals, coordinating the many moving parts that a cross-border transaction demands.

Before establishing his current practice, Mr Rinde served as Chief Representative of Blank Rome's Shanghai office, managing the firm's Asia-based matters, and earlier headed the corporate department of Hodgson Russ's New York office, where he founded that firm's Asian practice. That sustained international experience underpins his reputation in the field.
