Ernesto Albán Ricaurte

Ernesto Albán Ricaurte is an attorney at law with postgraduate studies in administrative law. He has been in private practice since 1992. As a litigant, he has intervened in numerous civil and criminal cases. He was also the coordinator of the team of lawyers that represented the Republic of Ecuador in several arbitration cases at the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).

He is an arbitrator at the Chamber of Commerce of Quito as well as the International Center for Arbitration and Mediation (CIAM), ascribed to the Chamber of Industry of Pichincha and the Ecuadorian- British Chamber of Commerce.

He is a professor in economic criminal law at San Francisco de Quito University and a consultant, coordinator and researcher in numerous projects, both oriented to legal reforms, as well as training and diffusion of law.

He is a partner at Cabezas Wray & Albán Law Firm, which is established in Quito and combines experience, specialised preparation, seriousness and creativity to provide its clients with legal advice and legal representation with a professional team of the highest quality.

Through the law firm, he provides advice and expertise on investment, contract matters, execution of infrastructure works, state responsibility and damages. He has also intervened in several contract negotiation processes in the private sphere and provided counseling to public entities.
