Jackson Shuai-Sheng Huang
In the year of 2013, Jackson Huang led the Energy team of Formosa Transnational Attorneys at Law in various significant deals with the most important transaction including the representation of 3 out of 9 IPP companies (independent power plant companies) in their administrative proceeding against the Taiwan Fair Trade Commission (FTC) which levied fines totaling NT$6.32 billion (US$212.6 million) against nine independent power producers (IPP), on charges of having gained illegal profits.
The regulator’s ruling represents the highest fines to be levied since amendments completed last year. The new amended law allowed it to exact fines as high as 10 per cent of an offender’s annual revenue, instead of the previous maximum of NT$25 million.
