Michael Han
Michael Han is a partner in the firm's antitrust, competition and trade (ACT) group, based in the Beijing office. He heads the firm's competition practice in China. Prior to joining Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, he worked with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (now the Ministry of Commerce), the authority that is currently responsible for foreign investment approval, national security review and merger review in China.
Michael's practice focuses on the competition and regulatory aspects of China-related foreign direct investment and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He has extensive experience advising multinational companies on the antitrust aspects of their cross-border M&A transactions as well as counselling them on the antitrust risks of their business behaviour.
Michael obtained an LLM degree from Harvard Law School and a PhD in law from Wuhan University Law School. A native PRC national, he is also fluent in English. He is admitted to practise in China and in the state of New York.
