Christoph Koeppel

Christoph Koeppel has been living and working in Mainland China for over 13 years, after having obtained a second master of law in Chinese economic law from Tsinghua University in Beijing in 2007 (one of the leading universities of the country). Before moving to China, Christoph has been working as a lawyer in different law firms in Switzerland. During his career, Christoph was able to gain an impressive experience and know how in the field of foreign investment.

Christoph has advised and represented a wide variety of clients in regard to structuring their intended business in Mainland China, finding the best legal form (and best suitable location) for an investment, negotiating with cooperation and/or Joint Venture partners of clients’, setting up companies in the form of for example a Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise (WFOE) or a Sino-Foreign Joint Venture, etc.

Christoph’s clients are active in a variety of industries, including, but not limited to for example the health care industry, the automotive supplier industry, food industry, luxury goods industry, to name only a few industries, and he was therefore able to gain experience with a wide variety of industries and he was able to gain knowledge about these industries’ specific needs and requirements.

Christoph has repeatedly been recommended by Chambers and Partners (the probably leading lawyers’ ranking institute) as a leading lawyer (PRC Firms).

Christoph has been working together with the Chinese law firm Global Law Office, the oldest Chinese law firm for over ten years, whereas Global Law Office is widely recognized as one of the leading law firms of the People’s Republic of China. Global Law Office is also widely recognized as being one of the eight so called “red circle law firms”, an informal, but widely used description of the eight leading law firms of the People’s Republic of China.
