Paul J. Greene is the Founder of Global Sports Advocates, LLC, an international sports law firm headquartered in Portland, Maine. Chambers USA and Super Lawyers recognize Paul as one of America’s leading sports lawyers. Paul is also the newest member of Rex Sport, an association of 35 of the world’s most prominent sports lawyers.
Paul handles sports law matters around the world, including cases before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland. Representative matters include Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson v. Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission and Nicklas Backstrom v. International Olympic Committee.
Paul is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maine School of Law and the University of Southern Maine School of Business where he teaches Law and Sports and Legal Ethics in Business. Paul has taught sports law as a visiting professor at the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía in Madrid, Spain and St. John’s University School of Law. Paul is admitted to practice law in Maine, Massachusetts, New York and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. Paul attended the University of Maine School of Law where he served as the Managing Editor of the Maine Law Review.
