Carlos Carneiro Gomes

Carlos Carneiro Gomes is one of the founders and currently the senior managing partner of “PMCG, Sociedade de Advogados”, a Portuguese independent law firm.

He graduated from Lisbon Law School and was later admitted as a member of the Portuguese Bar Association (Ordem dos Advogados) in 1992. From 1992 to 1998, Carlos´s acted as lawyer in the liquidation of credit institutions and financial corporations under the administrative action of the Portuguese Central Bank. From 2000 onwards, Carlos´s practice on insolvency matters extended to different economic sectors, and legal entity types.

His expertise extends from pre-insolvency and restructuring proceedings to company liquidation. In his practice Carlos is often requested to act as representative in creditors comities, as well as to conduct the legal representation of the insolvent estates in the conduction of legal actions related to the liquidation activities. In this capacity, Carlos represents several insolvent estates in complex transnational insolvent proceedings within the EU space.

Carlos is a full member of the UIA (Union International des Avocats), INSOL, and ULN (United Legal Network).
