Khushbu Sundarji, Partner at Stewart Germann Law Office, has more than 10 years’ experience practising law in Australia and New Zealand. She joined the firm in 2017 to specialise in franchising, licensing and commercial contracts. To this end, she acts for multiple franchise systems and has advised franchisees across a wide spectrum of businesses throughout New Zealand. Ms Sundarji is passionate about franchising, and regularly writes articles on the topic for both New Zealand (including Franchise Magazine) and international publications. She is further involved in presenting informative seminars, and has participated in many Franchise Association of New Zealand (FANZ) events from 2020 onwards.
Stewart Germann Law Office is notable for providing comprehensive services related to franchising, such as drafting franchise agreements and the relevant contracts, as well as reviewing agreements and acting for franchisors and franchisees in enforcing such agreements.

According to Ms Sundarji, in the case of franchisors, they will either be longstanding franchisors or the firm will help set up their system – also drafting and issuing the agreements, as well as acting for the franchisor in relation to any issues that may arise. The firm is also instrumental in acting for franchisees – in order to review and advise on the resulting franchise agreements.
Last, but not least, in recognition of its high-level service offering within its specialist area, Stewart Germann Law Office was awarded the “Highly Commended” accolade in the Global Franchise Awards for 2025.
