Vernon Nelson has built a full-service practice from his experience in casino regulatory compliance and gaming/hotel operations, licensing and other matters before the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Nevada Gaming Commission, and other domestic and international jurisdictions. Such matters include entity licensing, individual licensing and disciplinary matters, and tax matters, with experience on all sides of the equation. Mr Nelson’s experience includes representing self-insurers in claims involving multimillion-dollar prizes and giveaways.

Mr Nelson has successfully handled various regulatory compliance and licensing issues with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Nevada Gaming Commission, New Jersey Casino Control Commission, Pennsylvania Gaming Board, Tribal Gaming Commissions, and other state, federal, and international government agencies. He has defended clients in disciplinary matters and obtained approvals for marketing programs and nightclub operations. He also has experience in the rapidly developing areas of internet, social and mobile gaming.
Mr Nelson has substantial working experience relating to sweepstakes, contests and promotions, including internet, direct mail and location-based activities. He has developed promotional rules and overseen the conduct of sweepstakes, contests and promotions. Mr Nelson has overseen related marketing efforts for compliance with a multitude of unique state and federal lottery laws, and consumer fraud and protection statutes and regulations.
