Martin Sick Nielsen

Martin has more than 20 years of experience in IP law.

Today, his practice focus on conflict resolution, including patent and trademark litigation and arbitration, and negotiating and drafting of contracts relating to IP for both foreign and domestic clients within all industries.  Besides his legal practice, he also advises clients on how to manage IPR as part of their business.

Martin graduated with a Master of Law from the University of Copenhagen in 1991, and was admitted to the Danish bar in 1995. He joined Zacco in 2000 after having worked in a Danish general practice law firm (1991-1992) and as legal counsel in industry, where he was responsible for the IP department (1992-2000).

Martin is member of a large number of professional organizations, and has served on the board or in committees of several organisations, namely Association of Danish Company Lawyers (DFVJ), Association of Danish Industrial Property Executives (DIP), Fédération Européenne des Man-dataires de l’Industrie en Propriété Industrielle (FEMIPI), the Danish Anti-Counterfeiting Group (DACG) and Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle.

He is teaching intellectual property law at Danish Institute of Intellectual Property Education (DIFI) and has given numerous presentations on various subjects within IP law and management in Denmark and abroad. He has authored articles and papers and contributed to the intellectual property textbook “Grundlæggende immaterialret” (Gjellerup).
