• Providing legal counsel to the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development (EBRD) on financing transport infrastructure, district heating, water supply and electricity supply projects across Kazakhstan.
• Assisting Royal Dutch Shell in the acquisition of BG Group’s assets in Kazakhstan, a deal valued at more than US$70 billion, marking it as the largest M&A transaction globally in 2015.
• Guiding Samruk Energy in the US$1.3 billion acquisition of a 50% stake in the Ekibastus Gres-1 power plant from Kazakhmys.
Beyond transactional work, Mr Bekturganov contributes to legislative development – participating in working groups aimed at improving Kazakhstan's electric capacity market legislation.
