Samantha Mendes Longo is partner of Wald, Antunes, Vita, Longo e Blattner Advogados. She is associated since 2002, with extensive knowledge on complex litigation, arbitration, banking and finance, bankruptcy and restructuring, infrastructure and corporate dispute resolution.
Founded by Prof Dr Arnoldo Wald in 1954, the firm is one of the most efficient and dynamic Brazilian law firms, providing legal services to clients in Brazil and abroad.
Samantha is able to deal with different and complex transactions regarding arbitration and complex litigation matters for the most important and significant international and national companies. The firm advised many companies in legal matters related to corporate deals and contracts in general and works as the Judicial Administrator in the largest Judicial Recovery in Latin American history. Samantha is the partner in charge of this project.
Currently, she is a member of a work group raised by National Justice Council (CNJ) with the goal of improving law enforcement in Judicial Recovery procedures and Bankruptcy. At the Brazilian Bar Association in Rio de Janeiro, Samantha is a counselor and presides the Comission of Relationship with the Judiciary. She is a member of the Bankruptcy and Judicial Recovery Special Commission of the Federal Brazilian Bar Association and member of the Instituto dos Advogados do Brasil (IAB).
A graduate of Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) with an L. LM in Corporate Law from IBMEC/RJ, Samantha is the author of several articles and a speaker in national and international workshops and congress. She is also a teacher at the Judge School of Rio de Janeiro State (EMERJ) and School of Judicial Administration of Rio de Janeiro (ESAJ) and an invited Teacher at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).
Samantha’s recent accolades include awards from Lawyer Monthly Women in Law 2018 for Litigation and Commercial Arbitration.
She speaks Portuguese, English, Italian and Spanish.
