Mohamed Idwan (‘Kiki’) Ganie is the Managing Partner, and one of the founders, of Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Indonesia and holds a PhD in Law from the University of Hamburg.
Dr. Ganie has more than 30 years of legal experience, and specializes in commercial transactions and commercial litigation, including alternative dispute resolution and has acted as an expert in a number court and arbitration proceedings. His expertise covers general corporate/company law, mining, investment, acquisitions, infrastructure projects/project finance, antitrust, and shipping/aviation, with a particular focus on corporate governance and compliance.
Dr. Ganie’s international commercial transaction and litigation clients include: Goldman Sachs (US), Temasek Holdings (Singapore), Hutchison Whampoa (Hong Kong) and Mitsui (Japan).
Dr. Ganie is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia, a lecturer for the Indonesian Bar Association (PERADI), and a frequent speaker at international conferences and seminars covering a range of Indonesian legal issues. His publications include works on such topics as mining, shipping, finance and dispute resolution.
Dr. Ganie is admitted to the Indonesian Bar (PERADI) since 1984 and is a licensed Indonesian Capital Market lawyer. He is a Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Anti-Trust Lawyers, a member of the Regional Panel of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), a Chairman of the Indonesian Sports Arbitration Body, member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport/Tribunal Arbitral du Sport (CAS) panel of international arbitrators, and a fellow (FSIarb) of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators. He is also a Member of the Asia Pacific Bar Association.
Dr. Ganie speaks Indonesian, English, German and Dutch.
