Currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AA & K Consulting Services Limited. Mr. David Adome between periods 1996 to 2000 served as the Comissioner of Internal Revenue in Ghana. As Commissioner of Internal Revenue, he supervised the drafting of passage of the current principal enactment of income tax, the Internal Revenue Act, 2000 (Act 592). Mr. Adom also set up the Large Taxpayer Office which formed the basis for the establishment of a Large Taxpayer Unit which is responsible for over seventy percent of total collection in the internal revenue sector.
In his other various capacities in the Internal Revenue Service, Ghana as the Deputy Commissioner, Finance & Administration and Head, Research, Planning and Monitoring Departments, Mr. Adom established the Tax Audit Unit and put in place procedures and programmes for internal operational audit and external audit of taxpayers.
Mr. Adom also served as a member of the Committee that implemented the Value Added Tax when it was introduced in 1998. In 1998, Mr. David Adom was engaged by World Bank as a Consultant on Tax Compliance and the Informal Sector.
In private practice, Mr. David Adom has been the Lead Consultant on tax audit jobs outsourced by the Revenue Agencies Governing Board (RAGB). He has also been engaged in managing tax compliance issues for many blue chip companies in Ghana. His work policy research and advocacy in tax rate reduction and widening the tax policy direction of government striking a delicate balance in lowering corporate tax rate to stimulate growth in the economy and widening the tax net to increase government tax revenue.
