Equinor deal with the formation and management of Danish companies involved in cross-border transactions. The group are involved in both advice in relation to the establishment structure and international tax consequences and the general management and administration of the company once established. Equinor is a boutique, in-house owned group with six different nationalities on its staff. Working in English, Danish and French they bring an international outlook and experience which invariably adds value to the client.
The group have a wide variety of clients including private equity funds, internationals, private banks and ultra high net worth individuals. Through this broad client base, Equinor have vast experience in advising and managing Danish companies in cross-border structures, with particular experience in the following:-
- Danish holding companies for investment either in Denmark or outside. Just a few of the foreign countries the group has extensive experience in dealing with in terms of underlying investments are France, Italy and Canada.
- Real estate companies (both where the underlying investment is in Denmark or in foreign countries).
- Royalty companies.
As well as the areas listed above Equinor is experienced in moving companies within the EU. In recent years the company has helped groups worth EUR 300 million merge cross-border to enhance the tax position of the structure and they have also advised on the establishment and advantages of a Societas Europaea (SE).
Neil Smith LLB (Hons), Dip LP provides tax advice, including formal tax opinions, to a wide variety of the company’s clients. Post-setup of a structure he is also typically involved in the administration and management of a small portfolio of clients where he will act as director and be in constant communication and dialogue with the client as to the running of the Danish company.
