Vasileios Petropoulos

Vasileios Petropoulos (1980) is a member of the Patras Bar Association (2003) and joined “OVVADIAS S. NAMIAS LAW FIRM” in 2010. Apart from his LL.B. (University of Athens) he holds a PhD and Post doc in Criminal Law (2005, 2010, both from the University of Munich) and a PhD in Capital Market law (University of Zurich 2009). He was an academic scholar in capital market law at the CEGLA Institute of the Buchmann Faculty of Law of the University of Tel Aviv (2010). As an associate at Ovvadias Namias law Firm, a Law Firm specializing in all aspects of financial criminal law, including compliance and internal investigations, Vasileios has participated in the Greek section of several multi-jurisdictional cases concerning bribery, money laundering, tax evasion and cooperated with foreign authorities and lawyers. He has further advised betting companies on compliance issues. Vasileios has published several monographies and numerous articles in legal journals and participated in several legislative committees of the Greek Ministry of Justice, including the committee for the implementation of the Market Abuse Directive in the Greek law. He is fluent in German and English
