Osman Mensah

Osman Mensah is a development consultant with about 9 years experience in Research, Project Monitoring and Evaluation. He is a member of the European Society for Opinion and Market Research (ESOMAR). He is currently a Consultant and the Head of Corporate Affairs at JMK Consulting Ltd and a part-time Tutor in Sociology at the Institute of Continuing and Distance Education of the University of Ghana. Osman is also an accredited Trainer and Service provider for the Business Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) Fund.

He has vast experience in research, project evaluation and of leading project teams. He has evaluated a number of community based development interventions using participatory approaches such as focus group discussions, key informant interviews etc. For instance, he was part of JMK team that recently carried out a Project-based participatory Gender Analysis of the project Promoting African Grassroot Economic Security (PAGES), a CIDA funded livelihood project for Plan International where he assessed among other things, gender equality issues in selected primary schools in Central, Volta, and Upper West Regions. Further, Osman led a team to develop a comprehensive  Programme Document for the establishment of Ghana Civil Society Education fund where a detailed political economic analysis of issues in the Ghanaian Educational sector, particularly primary schools were examined  to form the  justification for the establishment of the Fund in Ghana.  

 He has facilitated a number of capacity building programmes for civil society organizations in Ghana. He was for example, the Lead Consultant that assisted the disability movement in the implementation of the inception phase of the DANIDA funded project that sought to build the capacity of disabled people organizations in Ghana. He is a Trainer and has served as a Resource Person/Facilitator on a number of training/capacity building programs for civil society organizations in Ghana. 

Osman holds a Masters Degree in Social Work and Bachelors degree in Sociology from the University of Ghana. He is taking instructions from the University of Cape Coast in Organizational Development to become a full member of the IOD.
